The Obsidian Control Systems team heads to the InfoComm tradeshow in Las Vegas June 12-14 with groundbreaking additions to its popular and award-winning NETRON data distribution range, featuring a comprehensive line tailored for system integrators and fixed installations, plus the world's first IP66-rated data distribution devices for live entertainment. Lighting professionals are invited to explore these latest innovations at Obsidian Booth W967.
New systems integration devices for installations
Obsidian is showing a comprehensive line of NETRON products in smart form factors optimized for system integrators and fixed installations. The entire range consists of 12 new ETL-approved devices to complete any project.
In stock and shipping is NETRON’s first 8-Port 100W POE-managed network switch, the NS8. The NS8 features 10Gbps total switching capacity and VLAN (6 Groups, Trunk, Color Coded) LED color feedback accessible with CLU software.
Also on display will be the EN12i, a 12-Universe EtherDMX node featuring field-interchangeable rear connections with front access ports; EP1, the new single-gang size EtherDMX node with included matching decora wall plate; and RP2, an intelligent 2-way DMX power relay that serves as a protective device for lighting fixtures. All these devices are in stock and shipping.
Three new compact devices with interchangeable connection plates that offer performance and flexibility will be on display. Available for review are the RDM6D (6-port RDM Splitter), EN6D (6-port EtherDMX Node), and DA2410V (ArtNet/sACN to 24 0-10V), all featuring the UL924 Emergency Cue System. These rugged chassis devices can be DIN-Rail or wall mounted and provide data ports that can be repositioned to the top, bottom or front of the devices.

Net Plate Brush: A 19” 1U rack mount brush plate for cable passthrough and clean cable management.
Net Plate: A 19” 1U Blank Plate with round knockouts for PCB5P and PCBCAT6.
WP1DO: Featuring a 5-pin DMX Output connector within a Decora insert plate for a sleek installation, this device offers integration flexibility with various DMX options for seamless integration into any DMX infrastructure.
WP1CAT6: Simplifying integration into Ethernet or DMX setups, this device offers a CAT6A compliant locking RJ45 connector within a Decora insert plate for a tidy and efficient installation process.
PCB5P: Providing a standard D-Size DMX Output connector on a small PCB, this device offers flexibility with different DMX input options for system integration. Useful for custom wall plates or other custom integration, it is ideally suited to work with the NETRON NET Plate which provides 14 pre-machined positions.
PCBCAT6: The PCBCAT6 presents a standard D-Size locking CAT6A RJ45 output connector on a compact PCB, catering to custom integration needs and compatible with the NETRON NET Plate for expanded capabilities.
World’s first IP66 range for entertainment data distribution
Despite the immense amount of IP-rated entertainment technology on the market, until now, there has been no IP-rated data distribution devices to provide the required infrastructure. On display will be the world’s first line of IP66-rated data distribution products for entertainment, winner of a 2023 PLASA Award for Innovation.
The NETRON IP66 range blends the proven chassis and connector technology of Elation’s market-leading IP65 Proteus range of lighting fixtures with the NETRON data platform. Utilizing a custom-designed die-cast body, impact resistant paint, IP ports and touch controls, the NETRON IP66 range provides reliable data distribution for any location that requires dust and moisture protection. Available is a 6-port RDM Splitter (RDM6 IP), 6-port EtherDMX Node (EN6 IP) and an 8-port managed POE Network switch (NS8 IP).
Visitors to InfoComm will also be able to demo Obsidian hardware and PC systems, including the NX1, Obsidian’s scalable, full-featured lighting console that has propelled the ONYX platform's popularity to new heights.
