Control/Dimming Strand SLD96 dimmer problems

Strand sld 96

This has happened more that once for me now. I was checking my dimmer racks the other day and on my second of 2 racks I get the following error.

Error 10500
Assert failed

I'm looking for help on how to clear this and/or fix this error. I have no Idea what is causing it.

I am controlling the 2 SLDs with an ETC EOS console.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Strand sld 96

Did you ever sort this out? We learned when we had SLD96 racks to clear errors, you have to pull the power to the entire rack. You can sometimes get away with pulling the power supply out of the control crate. We used to see that every once in a while, a reboot usually resolved it. It never seemed to cause a problem.

Best theory we ever had was it related to a power glitch, and some data did not get cleared from it's ram correctly, or a processor hiccuped. Strangely it would happen on 1 or 2 of them, and they where all bussed together.

A year ago we went to C21 racks, and I have not had to go into the dimmer room since, other than normal maintenance.

Looking for SLD Dimmers Part number 75710

I know these units are out of service from the manufacture and that individual parts are hard to come by. I thought there would be some of these dimmers around to purchase. I am consulting for a high school that has two of these SLD systems and they are in need of replacements untill they can budget for new systems. Please let me know what you have.

Thank You

Richard

Ok...I'm reviving an old post rather than start a new one.

The High School that I help with has a Strand SLD 96 and it won't be replaced for at least a couple years, unfortunately. We are adding in LED's and movers and really need some of the non-dim relay or constant power modules for it. There had been a couple on ebay and we bought those to get us started, but really need a handful more.

Anyone happen to have some Strand SLD modules laying around? I know that there have been some people that will take the dimmer modules apart and pull out the dimmer portion, but I can't even find any drawings to see how the modules themselves work (which terminals the power comes in on, and which terminals the power leaves the module on).

Contactor Modules
75745 SLD 15A Dual ND
75747 SLD 20A Dual ND

Constant Modules
75760 SLD 15A Dual Constant
75763 SLD 20A Dual Constant

Your best bet is to contact Steve Short at Lite-Trol and see if he can help you with the constant modules.

If the recommendations others have put out come up blank I'd look to PARLights in Maryland. They actually handled a few SLD rack installations and repairs in that region and should be familiar with the product. Plus I know the guys there a bit more quietly than others tend to hoard components for things. They might have some cards they might be willing to part with or possibly know how to modify them.

I have spoken with PAR Lights. They are great and tore through their entire warehouse looking through all of their old Strand SLD stuff. Unfortunately, no non-dim or constant power. But it is a great recommendation. They have dimmer modules, and I have quite a few of those already. Nothing too useful unfortunately.

Bummer. SLD racks are the only ones I've ever truly hoped would just catch fire and be shuttled off to the scrap heap.
